A sailing vacation aboard a cruising catamaran is a little slice of heaven.
Sail, swim, laugh a lot, feel the soft breezes on your face, and witness spectacular sunsets and the romance of night skies.
Whether aboard an excellent bareboat or a fully crewed catamaran with special food, beverages, and water toys, it will be a vacation to remember. It's all planned just the way you want it, and it's often the best vacation our guests have ever had—we hear that all the time.
At GAUK Boats, we feature several companies specializing in catamaran sailing yachts across the Caribbean, Bahamas, Belize, Tahiti, and Tonga. Put our knowledge and experience to work for you.
Crewed Catamaran Sailing Yachts: Your special sailing vacation deserves a wonderful crew and the right catamaran sailing yacht. We spend considerable time and effort visiting and sailing with crews to ensure the perfect match for you. Feel free to ask us about any of our crews; we're happy to share what makes each one special.
GAUK Bareboat Catamarans: We represent hundreds of bareboat catamarans throughout the Caribbean, Bahamas, Belize, Tahiti, and Tonga—places we've sailed and boats we know well. The perfect bareboat vacation demands a well-maintained, modern boat. Let us help you find the right boat in the perfect location.
Captain Only Catamarans: For those who want water toys, a great captain, and boat, but prefer to cook or dine out themselves, ask us about our carefully selected list of captain-only catamarans.
Charter Destinations: Explore renowned sailing areas like the Virgin Islands (BVI's and USVI's), or try something new like the Grenadines or a one-way trip between the French Islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique. Venture off to exotic destinations like Tahiti or Tonga—we'll help you pick the perfect spot.
BAREBOAT CATAMARANS
What is Required to Charter a Bareboat Catamaran? To bareboat charter, you need reasonable sailing experience on similar-sized boats. You'll be asked to fill out a sailing resume. While sailing school certificates are helpful, hands-on experience is more crucial. If there are any questions about your skills during the briefing, a captain can join you for a while to assess your ability and comfort level.
Sailing your own yacht in the British Virgin Islands or any of our other Caribbean locations is unlike any other vacation. Many who experience this trip return time and again—you can wake up, sail, swim, dive, snorkel, eat, sleep, drink, beachcomb—whatever you want, when and where you want.
The weather remains consistent year-round, typically around the 80s during the day with cooler evenings and occasional showers in the 70s. The water is always warm and crystal clear.
Why Catamarans? The demand for catamarans has surged in recent years for good reason. They're ideal for families and friends, offering more space, comfort, and privacy. Everyone appreciates their stability, especially those prone to seasickness. Despite this stability, catamarans provide exhilarating speeds and access to shallow beaches and coves.
Why Book Through Our Directory? We offer dependable knowledge and experience. Over the last nine years, we've vetted catamaran companies across different charter fleets in Tortola. We visit all charter bases and review their boats. We know which companies prioritize boat and customer care—they're the only ones we recommend. We sail there several times yearly, so we know what to expect.
We save you the effort of shopping around, providing a comprehensive list of catamarans that meet your needs, including costs and availability. As an independent company, we offer honest, objective reviews of boats and companies.
We can assist with water sports equipment rentals (kayaks, windsurfers, scuba gear), provisioning, temporary captain services, pre-charter boat stays, and hotels before or after your charter.
A Word About Our Catamaran Fleet: We feature bareboat catamarans from 35 feet to 80 feet and larger, accommodating groups of 2 to 12 charter guests. These boats are based in the British Virgin Islands, St. Martin, St. Vincent, Belize, Grenada, Canouan, the Grenadines, the Abacos, the Florida Keys, Guadeloupe, and Antigua. If the catamaran you want isn't listed, we'll find it for you.
CREWED CATAMARANS
A crewed charter aboard a large cruising catamaran offers a vacation unlike any other. Many guests find themselves returning repeatedly—once you experience it, you'll understand why.
Crewed charters are all-inclusive:
- Your weekly rate includes:
- A professionally licensed captain
- A trained chef/hostess
- Customized meals
- All beverages (open bar on most boats)
- A variety of water sports toys and instruction
- Nicely appointed cabins and facilities
- Spacious, bimini-covered cockpits
From the moment you step aboard your crewed yacht, you'll appreciate the personal service dedicated to making your trip unforgettable. The captain serves as your guide, helping you choose secluded anchorages, deserted beaches, hammock naps under palm trees, limbo parties on the sand, or falling asleep under the stars.
Your chef will impress with galley creations tailored to your preferences. From food to drinks, the entire week's menu caters to your tastes.
Terms like "Paradise," "Once in a Lifetime Experience," and "Dream Vacation" accurately describe a fully crewed charter aboard a privately owned yacht in the Caribbean. We know because we've done it ourselves, and we returned to confirm its wonder. Those two weeks were the best vacation of our lives and shaped our future—we now have a charter business and consider the islands our second home.
We personally select each boat and crew based on crew personality, yacht maintenance, and commitment to guest enjoyment. These crews ensure a truly memorable vacation—perhaps a once-in-a-lifetime experience or the start of an annual tradition.
